Unidentified flat-roofed Hindu temple near the Awasghar Temple, Medinipur

This photograph was taken by Walter Campbell in 1869 and forms part of the Archaeological Survey of India Collections (India Office Series). The view shows the façade of a small temple, with a flat roof and parapet and with a central, triple-arched entrance. The arches are decorated with lobed ornament around their frame, with decorative motifs at their apexes, and an inscription on the wall to the right hand side of the entrance. A single figure is seated on the plinth that projects from beneath the front of the building.
